Joe Kurtz and Josh Compton, two longtime musical brothers, present an EP of big rigging, long hauling highway lamentations. The collaborators stood and played their songs of wanderlust in an empty basement around a single condenser microphone, voices echoing, rising, fading, an improvisatory mandolin filling the spaces against the impending chill of another Ohio winter. It’s an album for driving at night. It’s an album for walking lonely streets. It’s an album tailored to the weary travelers out there on all of those lost highways.
