To celebrate the 10th (going on 11th) anniversary of a ship at Sea’s gospel-folk epic, “Awake, Awake”, the Harp Family reassembled for an album of cover songs, very much akin to our two volumes of hymns. Each of the artists brings their unique style and voice to the project, turning Josh Compton’s simple acoustic-led songs into anthemic church shouts, bluesy barnstormers, quiet dirges and hypnotic alt rock.
