EJ Olsen "Harp Family Hymnbook Vol. II" takes massive steps ahead for sacred music in the contemporary age. Though it’s a flawed record, it leaves a positive impression and demonstrates that there is still room for hymns in modern music. about

In the depths of the valley, at the tops of the mountain, I have turned to song. I have turned to the poets and the hymns and the strings, to give my soul the words they cannot find alone, to make tangible the sweet, the tender, the sorrowful tears my flesh attempts to bury.

These hymns gifted to us by our fathers and mothers of faith offer deliverance. These hymns teach us how to find restoration in tears. These songs beckon us to praise our Father with arms outstretched wide. These melodies move us to dance with joy.

In the offering of our chorus of voices, may we find the notes chisel away at the rocky walls built around our hearts, and melt what Benedicta Ward refers to as "that deep and cold conviction that [we] cannot love or be loved."

Be still. Be still, oh my soul, and sing.
You are loved today, tomorrow, and forever.
Come what may. Come what may.
Be still, oh my soul, and sing.
